Recently presented to the community, the masterplan that outlines the urban restructuring project for the city of Balneário Camboriú has the signature of Jaime Lerner, one of the greatest and most awarded architects and urban planners in the world.

The Urban Macro Structuring Guidelines Plan, published by the City Hall, provides for an urban planning that will have impacts throughout the city, both in the most central points and in the neighborhoods.

One of the main changes is the reformulation of Orla Central, the city's calling card. At this point, a visual reconfiguration inspired by the waves of the sea and curves of the shore is planned. The project includes, for example, the implementation of street furniture, standardized kiosks and the differentiation between walking lanes, bike paths and rollerblades/scooters.

The Plan also encompasses regions such as the Barra neighborhood, a traditional fishing and artisanal production region, and cradle of the formation of the city of Balneário Camboriú. Thus, the appreciation of this history is planned from the creation of walkways, decks, public market, among other attractions that seek to value the culture and traditions present in this space.

The beaches of Rodovia Interpraias also receive special attention. Laranjeiras beach will feature the visual standardization of the set of shops and restaurants, and also the creation of the Sand Museum, which will reveal to visitors all the archaeological and historical wealth present in this place, an archaeological site that housed fossils of more than 3,000 years old.

The team from the Jaime Lerner Arquitetos Associados office created a video to show all the projects they conceived to further transform the city of Balneário Camboriú.
